Top Five Education Applications

In today’s world, we put a large emphasis on education. Most of the careers in this technological age require more knowledge and knowhow than years previous. Luckily, today’s technology also enables learning. With iPhones and iPads and many other mobile devices, we’re all connected constantly to the largest information bank in history.

Mobile applications are incredibly popular today, ranging from ways to quickly find the music you like to applications that will help you find a quick date. Education applications are increasing in popularity, and we will go over the top five education apps available today.

Five Popular Education Apps

1: Love Art: National Gallery, London

This isn’t your typical mobile app. Love Art is a great way to see some of the world’s most historic pieces of art. What the app does is takes you through London’s famous National Gallery, giving you an up-close-and-personal view of the great collection.

One upside to this application is that it’s good for students of all ages, or just people in general who want to know more about art. With a quick touch of a button, you can browse, view, zoom and learn about some historic artwork.

2: Star Walk – 5 Stars Astronomy Guide

Now, the odds of you studying to become an astronaut are slim, but if you were to become one, it would help to know your stars. For education in general, astronomy is a great thing to learn, and the Star Walk app makes it not only easy but also entertaining.

By pointing your iPhone at any point in space, this app tells you what you’re viewing in real-time. Whether it’s a single star, a constellation, a planet, or even a satellite, Star Walk literally “walks” you through space in a fun, interactive format.

3: Spanish Anywhere

In the United States, the Latino population is growing rapidly and most menus and textbooks and TV shows are adopting Spanish to merge the cultures. With Spanish Anywhere, this app enables you to learn and communicate in Spanish. Whether you want to speak, read, study, translate, or pronounce Spanish, the app guides you through the process.

It also works in reverse, so Spanish-speaking individuals could communicate in English. In short, it’s a great application to break down language barriers.

4: Rocket Math

Rocket Math may be an app for kids, but it’s certainly not child’s play. With over 50 fun and interactive missions and almost 100 rockets, kids learn about counting, telling time, money, shapes, patterns, addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and much more, all through this application.

5: Blackboard Mobile Learn

This is an application for college students, allowing them to enroll in classes and/or organizations, all from their mobile devices. It’s also great for teachers to post important assignments that their students can download when not in the classroom. This free app enables students to become much more involved in the curriculum.

There are hundreds of education-based apps out there on the market. These five may be among the top, but we’re only scratching the surface.
